New Console

I stumbled onto a Broadcast Electronics console on Ebay yesterday and bid on it on a whim. Surprise! I won the bid! So, for just over $100, I have a professional console on the way to the station. It's just a small four-channel board, but it'll work just fine for my purposes. Oh yeah, it's mono, but that's ok, too, since the AM is mono. Pictures to follow when I get it installed.

Rangemaster

I realized I had not posted any progress on the Rangemaster repair. Needless to say, it's back on the air and sounding as good as ever. I am always amazed at the audio quality of this transmitter. To me, East Hill Radio sounds as good (or better) than anything else on the AM band.

Studio Rebuild

After having been on the air for almost three years, I'm going to start working on a studio rebuild. The plans are to upgrade the on-air position with a new board, CD players, turntables, cart and minidisc players. The production position will get a new board, cart, reel-to-reel, CD, and a minidisc. I haven't decided on whether to upgrade the station automation system or not. The current system is running fairly well; I just need to get it sounding better. There's no timetable for the upgrade, yet. But I will have pictures of the various stages as I progress through the rebuild.
