Mr. East Hill Radio (me!) has signed the papers on a new and yet-to-be-constructed home.  Construction is scheduled to start in July, barring any difficulties.  The station will have its own space with enough space for on-air, a production room and an engineering bench! I installed a new console last week.  It's a "DJ" mixer as opposed to a professional audio console, but it works and sounds great.  One of the CD players, the automation (of course!), and the jingle playback are all hooked up, as well.  I have one more CD that needs cables and the on-air position is more-or-less complete. I moved it over the weekend and was only off the air for about eight hours.  Streaming was down longer due to some logistical issues but was back up by Sunday afternoon.There's still a lot to do with the new studio, but I'm happy with the location. Surprise!  I won the bid!  So, for just over $100, I have a professional console on the way to the station.  It's just a small four-channel board, but it'll work just fine for my purposes.  Oh yeah, it's mono, but that's ok, too, since the AM is mono. Needless to say, it's back on the air and sounding as good as ever.  I am always amazed at the audio quality of this transmitter. The plans are to upgrade the on-air position with a new board, CD players, turntables, cart and minidisc players. The production position will get a new board, cart, reel-to-reel, CD, and a minidisc. I haven't decided on whether to upgrade the station automation system or not. A lot has to do with the fact that I'm working two jobs right now.  So, I don't have a lot of time when I'm not working or sleeping. The station is back on AM with a Talking House transmitter.  Right now, it's in an upstairs room with just the indoor antenna.  But the range is quite good. Talk about a case of "If it could go wrong, it would!"  I moved AM1700's audio to FM even though Part-15 FM will barely get you down the block.  All was going well until I blew a circuit breaker yesterday.  That knocked FM off the air and I couldn't get an electrician until today.  (I'm good with low voltage stuff, but I don't trust myself inside a breaker panel.) This the first problem we've had with the Rangemaster in over two years. A quick call to Keith Hamilton who suggested either the audio IC or a modulation transformer. So, I checked the Radio Shack web site, and, surprise, they still stock some IC's and the one I need. I picked up two.
